Älvstranden Utveckling AB - WITGBG Partner Spotlight

Thank you to our WITGBG partners who help support our mission and to make our vision for tech a reality. Today we spotlight Älvstranden Utveckling AB, who sponsored Women in Tech Gothenburg during Frihamnsdagardna in August 2024.

Älvstranden Utveckling AB is a municipal real estate company that, through its property portfolio, contributes to sustainable and long-term urban development in Gothenburg. The company's largest property holdings are located in Lindholmen, a bustling and world-leading hub for companies within tech and mobility.

– Most of our tenants are within the tech and mobility cluster, and we offer various types of spaces in the area, tailored to suit different companies depending on their stage of development.

That’s why it was a natural decision for us to give Women in Tech Gothenburg an opportunity to showcase themselves during Frihamnsdagarna, says Marie Vulpe, Leasing Manager at Älvstranden Utveckling AB.

In January 2025, Älvstranden Utveckling AB will open The Yard in Utrustningsverkstaden at Lindholmen. The Yard is a tech arena for startups, fast-growing scaleups, or established tech companies. As a member at The Yard, you gain access to a workspace in an industrial environment with a strong community that supports networking, inspiration, and business development. For two years, The Yard has been tested as a concept in Pannverkstaden and has today several members.

– At The Yard, we offer coworking, private offices, lounges, meeting rooms, and the main attraction: our large workshop hall. Here, software meets hardware. It’s a creative community where you can meet, challenge, test, and create tomorrow’s solutions, says Melina Garhed, Business Developer at Älvstranden Utveckling.

A Hub for Collaboration and Innovation

The Yard does things a little differently as it’s not just about renting a desk. It’s a place for exchanging ideas, where innovations are born, and where companies and freelancers can grow together. By focusing on community and collaboration, The Yard provides both physical and mental spaces that stimulate creativity and productivity. With meeting rooms, creative spaces, and modern office solutions, they have created an environment tailored to Lindholmen’s tech cluster and business culture.

– Looking ahead, we see opportunities to grow alongside the area and further develop our role as a hub for innovation and collaboration, says Marie Vulpe.

The Yard is a project largely developed by women at Älvstranden Utveckling AB, from concept to completion. By continuing to promote an equal and inclusive work environment, The Yard aims to inspire more women to take their place in the business and tech world while remaining a key player in Gothenburg’s rapidly growing tech scene.

– Our advice to women in the tech industry is to participate in the networks available. Not only to be inspired by others but also to inspire others. In these networks, you can make valuable connections and take initiative in areas where you want to grow, and we would love to see more women at The Yard, concludes Melina Garhed.
