VoiceHER’s calling to empower women via audio-first safe space

VoiceHER is on a mission to empower women and boost their self-esteem by connecting them with professional female coaches & other women in transformation - all in an audio-first safe space. Women in Tech - Gothenburg sat down with the founder, Viktoria Elman, to hear more about her and the voiceHER story.

Who is Viktora Elman?

Growing up in a big family, with four older brothers and one younger sister, came with its set of challenges. I learned that if I wanted something, I needed to fight for it, negotiate, be determined and never give up.

My childhood was shaped by people who taught me about making an impact, doing good and caring for others. If I think back on my family, my grandparents on both sides had their own businesses. No wonder I always had a nose for business.

I have 13 years of experience in business as an intrapreneur and started my career in sales which taught me to understand why people are the way they are. For example: as a 22 year old I was a part of the team that launched Redbull in Norway, setting up their sales team which was an incredible experience. The last three years of which were with TripAdvisor and their new business unit, living in Paris & London, where I was responsible for growing their global partnership in EMEA.

The story behind VoiceHER

“I believe there are lots of things that lead me to where I am today. Throughout my travels & personal experiences I've developed a great fascination for the human experience and a curiosity and urge to engage in life’s bigger question. I have realised that I'm extremely privileged and with that comes responsibility. It is a journey of self-discovery, expanding your understanding, accepting what you cannot change, and most importantly, creating meaning together with others, sometimes in the simplest of circumstances.

Later in my life, I've been a part of and seen women fight against men's dominated institutions that failed to see the female perspective providing preconditions unfavourable for women's self image, self esteem and well-being.
Therefore I resigned from my job in 2020, moved back to Sweden, where I came upon the incubator program Antler. That’s where VoiceHER was born. VoiceHER's mission is to empower women by connecting them with professional coaches within personal development. We already built a community with an audio based app with drop in live conversations hosted by the coaches for group sessions, within record time.

It is a place of unity, sisterhood and peer groups, where women have great power over what they believe about themselves. If you have a peer group that is thriving, it will reflect and empower you. Together with our amazing coaches you are held and given space through the female collective.

We are now targeting corporate front-runners that invest and promote in female talent aiming to create dynamic, diverse & more profitable businesses.”

VoiceHER in the future:

”VoiceHER has created a movement where every woman can reach her full potential! We are helping and empowering millions of women living a healthier and empowered life. The Impact of having increased gender equality will have a ripple effect on all areas of sustainable development, from reducing poverty, hunger and even carbon emissions to enhancing the health, well-being and education of entire families, communities and countries.”

How can the WITGBG community support VoiceHER?

We are stronger and better together by helping us spread awareness about VoiceHER. So that more women can join the community, to start and continue their healing process. Since we are also moving towards corporations, we are targeting frontrunners in gender equality, so any companies you know that fit that would be very helpful.
