We Exist - a recruitment company for women within tech

In November 2021, We Exist entered into a partnership with Women in Tech Gothenburg to handle recruitment requests that come to WITGBG. As the goals of WITGBG and We Exist have a lot in common, this partnership is the most natural course of events. We Exist hope to reach and engage more women and non-binary people(NB) through this partnership.  In the end, We Exist wants to create a safe environment for women and NB to flourish in the tech industry and make sure that these voices are not lost in the gaps in the industry.

We Exist is a recruitment company focused on empowering women and non-binary people (NB) through focusing on the candidate and working with them to find the best fit. We Exist only works with companies that they have vetted against rigorous standards to ensure gender equality and equitability.

We Exist has a unique strength to understand if an organization is a friendly space to women and NB recruits, the co-founder Anna is a gender consultant. She meets with and helps companies to become gender positive by spotting gaps where women and NB people tend to be sidelined in the company or the recruitment process. It was during these meetings with companies that she realized many companies did not or could not attract female and NB candidates. This realization led to the formation of We Exist.

Anna met Ellinor, the co-founder in March 2021 in an online meetup for women in IT. Ellinor, who has a background in sales and tech and has a passion for recruitment, came on board upon hearing the vision.

We Exist is a statement that declares that women and NB people can no longer be sidelined. Thanks to the unique competencies of the co-founders, they have been approached by many companies since their inception to help attract and retain talent. But, in order for the company to take on an assignment, the organization has to pass its vetting process.

The checks start at the top. We Exist meets the board of directors and interviews them. Then, they study the discrimination policy of the company and provide the organization with an action list to carry out before they can be approved.  As for candidates, Anna speaks with them first and she has had some really heartwarming experiences, where the candidates felt an overwhelming sense of relief upon hearing how centered they were in this process. In order to focus on the candidate, she asks them for a wish list of what they would love about a new job and company. She has observed that it is often the first time this question has been put forth to a candidate and really helps them to be seen.

By calling the candidates queens, We Exist ensures that the candidates’ dignity and power are upheld when they put them forward to companies.
